I really enjoyed my reading during the month of October. I completed five very good books and listened to two very good audio books as well.

I am currently half way through the book Sweet Caroline by Rachel Hauck and almost finished with the audio book Matters of the Heart by Danielle Steel.

Series and Trilogies

One of the fun things I have done this year is to incorporate a couple of ongoing series, a new series and a couple trilogies into my reading.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the following:

Above the Line Series by Karen Kingsbury
This is another series from the ongoing set of series that originated from the characters of the Baxter family and their friends.

The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins
This is an action packed trilogy that was recommended by my daughter.

Sisters of the Heart Trilogy by Lyn Cote
This is a trilogy written by an author that I discovered a year or so ago.

Starvation Lake Series by Bryan Gruley
This series in a new one that takes place in my state and was recommended by my brother.

The Women's Murder Club Series by James Patterson
This is an ongoing series of which I wanted to read by a writer that I enjoy.

I highly recommend all five of these for your reading pleasure!

Audio Books

I have had a renewed interest in audio books recently! Reason? I bought a new car this summer that has a CD player. What a bonus this has turned out to be!

I had a slight interest in audio books ever since I completed a reading challenge for audio books about a year ago, but now I have found that I quite enjoy listening to a good book during my commutes to and from work. I have completed one or two audio books per month since July.

Yes, I have definitely renewed my interest in this form of reading!

Third Quarter Reading for 2011

As I am reading my way through the year 2011, I find that I am choosing books that have peaked my interest in various ways: book jackets that have caught my eye at the library; book titles that have caught my eye at the library; books that have collected dust on my shelves that I have been dying to read for a while (so why are they collecting dust?); recommendations from friends and family; and recommendations from publications reviewing books. I have found much pleasure in most of what I've read this year!
